Terms of Reference to Produce Evidence on Malawi’s Experience on Gender Justice and Macroeconomic Policy Making

Christian Aid Malawi is implementing the fostering gender just recoveries project with funding from Hewlett Foundation. The project seeks to enhance Feminist Macroeconomic Activity, an advocacy component on feminist Macroeconomic Policy Inclusion in Malawi. The component aims to enhance the civil society’s advocacy efforts in bringing to light the linkage between Malawi’s Macroeconomic policies and its impacts on the economic welfare of Women and girls. The component also aims to strengthen CA Malawi’s ability to effectively contribute to Gender Just recovery advocacy and influencing.
About the Assignment
Christian Aid wishes to engage a freelancer that will facilitate the documentation of Gender Justice and Macroeconomic policy making processes in Malawi.
The assignment aims to highlight the linkage between women’s social economic status and Malawi’s Macroeconomic policy making with a feminist approach in achieving gender justice.
We are looking for an individual consultant with the following skills and qualifications.
- Advanced degree in either Gender, Public policy, Economics, Law, Political Science or any Social Sciences with demonstrated good knowledge of Feminist Macroeconomics or Gender Transformative approaches.
- The consultant must have at least five years’ proven experience in gender justice, macroeconomic policymaking, or related areas.
- working in the gender justice sector with a clear understanding of Malawi’s macroeconomic policy making processes and background in advocating for the advancement of women’s economic empowerment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
