Procurement of Soybean and Groundnut Inoculant
Palladium International is implementing a five-year USAID funded Feed the Future Diversified Agriculture-led Growth Poles for inclusive, sustainable, and resilient wealth creation Activity. The purpose of the activity is to accelerate environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable, resilient, and more inclusive wealth generation in Malawi by mobilizing rural based private sector investments and partnerships with anchor firms and their surrounding communities, smallholder organizations, cooperatives, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) in a growth pole approach, with a youth and gender lens. In short, Growth Poles Project is a partnership with private sector to drive resilient prosperity that will improve food security, incomes, jobs, and exports in Malawi.
Growth Poles Activity intends to procure groundnut and soybean inoculant for on-farm demonstrations in Mzimba, Rumphi, Kasungu, Dowa, Ntchisi, Salima, Nkhotakota, Lilongwe, Mchinji, and Dedza Districts. While most (80%) of the inoculant will be distributed through Extension Planning Areas (EPAs), 20% of it is expected to be channelled through the existing marketing channels – i.e. using agrodealers and/or direct marketing by the suppliers in selected districts.
Palladium is seeking quotations from interested suppliers to provide Items as specified below:

Bidders should include the following information in their bid:
- Company Profile, certificate of registration, Tax (VAT) registration, withholding tax registration certificate (these will be verified with issuing authorities).
- Itemized quotation in Malawi Kwacha (Inoculant delivered to the mentioned districts)
- Include proof of past performance in form of Purchase Orders or Contracts
- Ability to deliver inoculant in time for planting as directed by Growth Poles and partners to all the ten districts mentioned above.
- Research reports showing effectiveness in Malawi
- Include Government of Malawi Certification and Approval (will be verified by issuing authority)
- Provide training on inoculant use to Growth Poles Project partners as scheduled by the Project
- Provide promotional and training materials
Payment plan – the activity will only process payment within 30 days upon final delivery and acceptance of supplies.
