REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROVISION OF MEDICAL SERVICE

LET THEM GROW HEALTHY (AKULE NDI THANZI) ACTIVITY

I. Background
On June I, 2022, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Malawi awarded Feed the Children, Inc. (FEED) and its consortium of partners the five-year Let Them Grow Healthy (Akule ndi Thanzi) Activity. The project is using a multisectoral nutrition programming approach, as recommended by the Government of Malawi (GOM) and USAID. The project aims at improving the health and nutritional status of women and children, emphasizing the first 1,000 days of a child’s life, from conception through the first two years of life. This is a critical period where stunting in children occurs. The project operates in eight districts of Malawi including Chitipa, Karonga, Rumphi, NkhataBay, Nkhotakota, Salima, Dowa, and Lilongwe covering 36 TAs and serving an estimated 235,045 beneficiaries.
FEED is requesting proposals for the following:

a. Provision of Medical Services

Eligible Bidders for medical services must have:

  1. Extensive experience and a proven track record in the health insurance business – List of top 3 NGO clients in the last 3 years is required
  2. Wide networks for national coverage – A full list of service providers is needed Reliable health coverage services
  3. Sound experience in service provision in non-urban districts
  4. Ability to provide 24-hours contact service
  5. Real-time administrative support systems – Ability to assign a full-time account manager
  6. Ability to respond immediately to emergency situations.
