FEASIBILITY STUDY AND DETAILED ENGINEERING DESIGN FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF NKHOTA KOTA JETTY

The Government of Malawi has received financing from the African Development Bank toward the cost of the SADC Sub-Regional Transport and Trade Facilitation Project, and intends to apply part of the agreed amount for this grant to payments under the contract for the Feasibility Study and Detailed Engineering Design for Nkhotakota Jetty.

The study is intended to evaluate the practicality and potential success of the proposed project. It aims at identifying potential challenges, risks, benefits, and opportunities associated with the project to guide decision-making. The services included under this project are:

  1. Feasibility Study and Environmental and Social Impact Assessment.
  2. Detailed Engineering designs and preparation of Bidding Documents.

The duration of the assignment is seven (7) months.

The Roads Authority now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification.

Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank’s “Procurement Framework dated October 2015, ” which is available on the Bank’s website at https://www.afdb.org/en/projects-and-operations/procurement/new-procurement-policy

A consultant will be selected in accordance with the Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method set out in the Procurement Policy.

Expressions of interest must be delivered to the address below by 30th July 2024 at 16:00 hours and mention “Expression of Interest – Feasibility Study and Detailed Engineering Design for the Nkhotakota Jetty”.
