REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST (CONSULTING SERVICES – INDIVIDUAL SELECTION)

The Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS), was established by Chapter 18:09 of the Laws of Malawi by Parliament in 1966 (Act 51). It is a humanitarian organization with a presence across all government administrative districts, organized into divisions and subdivisions. Committed to continuous learning and improvement, The organization remains committed to continuous learning and improvement to maintain its competitiveness and remain a strategic partner of choice in the humanitarian sector as outlined in its 2020 – 2024 Strategic Plan (SP).
MRCS appreciates project implementation as a key humanitarian programming, as such the organization must have staff who have the much-needed capacities.
The need for staff capacity building in Project management cannot be overemphasized, especially following the growth that MRCS has experienced since its establishment. the demand for its services; the pressure of work upon the available human as well as financial resources; and the need to have well-groomed officers to support the philosophy and core values of the establishment of MRCS. It is against this background that the organization plans to conduct project management training for staff to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively plan, execute, and control projects.
MRCS invites eligible individuals (“Consultants”) to express their interest in providing consultancy services to facilitate a project management training targeting MRCS technical staff from both field and HQ. The training will be tailor made to the needs identified from a bottleneck analysis that will also be done by the Consultant prior to administering the training. Interested consultants should submit information demonstrating their qualifications and relevant experience.
The consultant must be an individual with the necessary qualifications and experience. The shortlisting criteria will be: –
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent qualification in any of the following disciplines: Strategic Management, Leadership, Human Resources Management and Development, or any other related field from a recognized university.
- Those with a PHD will have an added advantage.
- At least 10 years of proven practical experience in developing business strategic plans.
- Knowledge of business organization and development in both public and private sector organizations.
The level of effort for the assignment is estimated to be completed within a period of two months. The Malawi Red Cross now invites qualified consultants to submit detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) expressing their interest in providing consultancy services to develop a new Strategic Plan for the Malawi Red Cross Society.
Expressions of Interest must first be registered and then deposited in a Tender Box located near the reception by 14:00 PM on or before 23rd September 2024.
