Save the Children International in Malawi, through the Abwenzi A Ana, under its Basic Education thematic, is committed to ensuring equitable access to safe and inclusive quality basic education for children in its impact area. Abwenzi A Ana is seeking the expertise of qualified construction companies to do renovation works of four (4) double classroom blocks in four(4) selected schools in Ntcheu district.

Save the Children International in Malawi is therefore, inviting submissions of bids, both technical and financial from qualified and well experience construction companies for renovations works for the double classroom school blocks in Ntcheu districtas per Lot 1 to 4 below. Detailed, Bills of Quantities, status of the school blocks andall requirements for this tender are included within invitation to tender document. General Eligibility of interested bidders.

  1. Registered company in Malawi.
  2. At least 8 years’ experience in construction industry in Malawi
  3. 500 million building category with NCIC.
  4. Valid tax Clearance certificate.
  5. Proof of similar contracts with other NGOs/INGOs for the past 3 years with completion
    certificates attached.
  6. Letter of credit amounting to the bid value for each lot from the bank and a stamped bank statement for the past 3 months.

Submission of Bids

Eligible bidders meeting all stated requirements are requested to adhere to the following when applying:

  1. Submit both Technical and Financial Proposals for all lots interested as one bid. The financial proposals should be in Malawi Kwacha and valid for at least 90 calendar days.
  2. The technical proposal should include well detailed scope, workplan, list of key staff, list of key equipment, previous experience, and completion certificates.
  3. The technical proposal should also include CV, relevant certificates, and copies of previous experience for key staff.
  4. Every bidder should submit a bank guaranteed bid security equivalent of 5% of their bid amount per lotalong with their bid document.
  5. All sealed bids, well labelled ‘RENOVATION WORKS FOR 4 DOUBLE CLASS SCHOOL BLOCKS IN NTCHEU DISTRICT’ should be submitted physically in the tender box at Save the Children International offices front office, in area 14, opposite Lilongwe Adventist Hospital. All bids should be addressed to:

  6. Deadline for the submission of the bids will be on Thursday, 18th July 2024 at 16:00hrs Malawian time.

Note:

  • Late submissions will not be accepted
  • emaill bid/application submissions will not be accepted.
  • Save the Children reserves the right to accept the lowest, highest bidder or no bidder at all.
  • Save the Children maintains a ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy on child sexual abuse and reserves the right to reject a proposal if the successful bidder is found to have history of sexually abusing children. Further, the successful bidder shall be obliged to adhere to the child safeguarding policy and requirements for the organisation.
  • Save the Children maintains a ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy towards fraudulent, dishonest, corruption and bribery practices.
