Prequalification of Suppliers for Agriculture Inputs for Cyclone Freddy Food Security Restoration Project
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is seeking tenders from qualified suppliers to support the Cyclone Freddy Food Security Restoration Project aimed at improving agricultural production and addressing food security needs in Mulanje District, Malawi. This initiative is particularly focused on households affected by Cyclone Freddy and the ongoing impacts of El Niño in Traditional Authorities Njema and Juma. The project aims to restore and protect agricultural production and livelihoods for approximately 6,277 households (27,619 individuals) in Mulanje District The Project will use vouchers and Agro-dealers system to strengthen the local market systems and provide project participants with a wider choice of certified grain and legume seeds. The supply of inputs will be required by the second week of November 2024 and those of Vines, by First Week of December ,2024.
CRS is therefore inviting reputable local Agro-dealers and registered sweet potato Vine multipliers operating in TA
Mnjema and Juma in Mulanje District to prequalify for the supply of the following inputs and Vines:

Eligibility Criteria
1. Applications to pre-qualify for the Agriculture Inputs described above should among other things contain the following information:
- Application letter stating the above requirements.
- Should be based in Mulanje
- Company’s business profile including physical and registered address, year of establishment, telephone numbers and/email address
- Copy of tax registration certificate
- Evidence of financial capability which shall include the most recent bank statement for the period of 3 months.
- Evidence of current registration with Seed Services Unit (SSU) and / or Seed Traders Association of Malawi (STAM)
- Have capacity to participate in Seed Vouchers
2. And those supplying Vines to the project should be
- Registered with SSU in the 2024/2025 season and have relevant vine certification documents
- Be based within Mulanje district
- Able to mobilize and establish centers of Seed multiplication within the project implementation area.
Applications should be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Pre-qualification of suppliers for Agriculture Inputs for Cyclone Freddy Food Security Restoration Project” and deposited in a tender box located at the Reception Area to the address below at or before 12:00 hours local time on 9th October, 2024.
