VACANCY

WORKSHOP MANAGER

Reporting to the Agriculture Director, the Workshop Manager will oversee the maintenance and repair of all machinery and vehicles on our plantation. This role is crucial in ensuring that all equipment is operational, safe, and efficiently maintained to support our agricultural activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute maintenance services for tractors, trucks, and excavators
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules
  • Ensure quick response to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime
  • Prepare and monitor the annual workshop budget
  • Manage inventory of spare parts and tools
  • Ensure all workshop activities comply with safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets the highest standards
  • Lead and supervise a team of mechanics and technicians

Qualifications, skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years proven experience in workshop or operations management, preferably in an agricultural setting
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent diagnosis, organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient in MS Office and inventory management systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Demonstratable skills in the SS system
