Post                             :           Water Monitoring Officer (Grade I)

Salary                          :           Within the Grade I salary scale segment

Location                      :           Department of Water Supply

Qualifications

Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor of Science degree in either Water Resource Management or Environmental Science obtained from accredited institutions.

Duties                        

  1. Monitoring and evaluation of operation and maintenance of water points
  2. Monitoring water allocations, flow gauging and performance of water points;
  3. Investigating and identifying water resources and advise the District Assemblies on site to erect well, boreholes or taps;
  4. Development and implementation of sustainable water allocations required for district;
  5. Liaising with relevant authorities on water quality monitoring programmes in the districts;
  6. Analyzing water, Sanitation and hygiene issues and data collection;
  7. Development and implementation Training plan for Community based Management;
  8. Reviewing training manuals for Community Based Management;
  9. Compiling water, sanitation and hygiene reports;
  10. Coordinating the dissemination of gender hygiene, sanitation and HIV/AIDS messages in water programme;
  11. Facilitating the sensitization and mobilization of communities in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of water and sanitation activities;
  12. Preparing budget for funding for water sanitation projects.

Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
