ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

Job Title: Assistant Registrar Marketing and Communications (1 post)

Reporting to the University Registrar

Job Purpose

The Catholic University of Malawi operates in a dynamic social and technological context that requires agile, effective and efficient communication. Consistent with its vision to be a centre of excellence for quality holistic education, the University needs to constantly strengthen its engagement with various stakeholders, both internal and external, in promoting its mission.

Responsibilities

  • To coordinate the curation of internal and external communications;
  • To manage the University’s social media platforms;
  • To mediate the University’s engagement with mainstream media;
  • To exercise leadership in designing competitive marketing strategies;
  • To coordinate the design, production and distribution of the University’s merchandise and promotional materials;
  • To drive advertising in the University’s publications and website;
  • To undertake any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree in Marketing from an accredited institution;
  • At least three years of experience leading the marketing function of a competitive organisation;
  • Above-average ICT skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

 

Job Title: Receptionist (1 post)

Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive at the office
  • Direct visitors to the appropriate person and office
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material (e.g. pens, forms and brochures)
  • Provide basic and accurate information in-person and via phone/email
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries

Qualification, skills and experience

  • The applicant must have
  • Diploma in Communication Studies. Those with degree in the same will have added advantage
  • Proven work experience as a Receptionist, Front Office Representative or similar role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. fax machines and printers)
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Customer service attitude
  • High school degree

Job Title: Nurse Midwife Technician (1 post)

Qualification:

  • Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery from a recognised institution.
