Hema Construction Limited is a leading Civil and Building Construction Company based in Malawi. As a company registered in the UNLIMITED CATEGORY with the National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) for both Building and Civil Construction, we have established ourselves as a trusted and reliable partner in the construction industry. The company is seeking experienced and motivated persons to fill the following vacant posts;
1. Workshop Foreman
Will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of all construction equipment and vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team of technicians
- Coordinate maintenance schedules for all equipment and vehicles
- Oversee the repair of equipment and vehicles
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and vehicles in projects sites
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies
- Manage inventory levels of spare parts and supplies in liaison with Workshop manager
Requirements
- Trade qualification in a relevant field
- Over 5 years of experience in a very busy workshop environment. Those with experience in construction industry will have an added advantage
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
2. Workshop Administrator
We will be required to provide administrative support to workshop team, ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance and repair activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the workshop team
- Manage and maintain accurate records and databases for all fleet, personnel etc.
- In liaison with senior workshop personnel will be required to coordinate maintenance schedules and appointments with technicians
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of spare parts and supplies
- Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies
Requirements
- Diploma in relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a construction workshop or maintenance environment
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
3. Mechanics
- Hydraulics Technician
- Auto-electrician
- Plant/Heavy truck Mechanic
- Light vehicle specialist (Ford rangers and Toyota Hiluxes etc).
- Must have manual skill and great attention to detail. They must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions.
Responsibilities
- Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements
- Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc. and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues
- Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability
- Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systems
- Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components
- Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery
- Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users
- Undertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair of hydraulic systems, engine overhauls etc.)
- Keep logs of work and report on issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience as Mechanic
- At least Trade trades Grade one or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a busy Trucks and plant workshop.
- Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components.
4. Operators
Responsibilities
Must be able to operate earth moving/ construction machines (Excavator, Loaders, Grader)
Requirements
- Must have a valid driving license
- Those that are able to operate more than 3 machines will have an added advantage
5. Drivers
Responsibilities
- Must be able to drive both trucks and light vehicles
Requirements
- Must have a valid driving license
- Must have more than 5 years work experience in a construction industry
