Staff Nurse

Alliance One Tobacco (Malawi) Ltd is seeking applications for the position of:

STAFF NURSE

The successful applicant will be reporting to the Medical Officer.

Key responsibilities include:

• Participating in quality improvement initiatives
• Managing drug stocks, accounting for and issuing drugs to clients as prescribed by the Medical Officer or Clinician.
• Providing bedside nursing to patients admitted at the clinic
• Sterilizing clinical equipment.
• Implementing Infection prevention and control measures including disposal of all biohazardous material to a prescribed disposal place
• Inspecting and stocking first aid boxes
• Conducting daily/monthly stock counts for the drugs
• Managing and controlling clinic consumables
• Providing HIV testing, counselling and ART to those who are eligible
• Compiling reports for the shared services with Pyxus Agriculture Malawi and maintaining highest degree of confidentiality.

Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes

• Bachelor’s Degree or University Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery or equivalent with at least three years post qualification experience in a busy hospital or clinic
• Registered with Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi
• Should be a fast learner and able to work under minimum supervision
• Able to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Sober habits and trustworthy.
