Farm Radio Trust (FRT) is a leading non- governmental organization dedicated exclusively to serving smallholder communities through the provision of ICT based information, communication, extension and advisory services in Malawi with a growing reputation and involvement in program and policy development processes across sub-Saharan Africa. Our vision is a ‘world that has sustainable livelihoods of farming communities’. FRT was registered under the Trustees Incorporation Act in 2009; registered as a local non-governmental organization under Council for Non-Governmental Organizations in Malawi (CONGOMA) in 2010 and with NGO Board since 2013.
SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN
FRT is seeking a Social Media Intern to coordinate all FRT social media activities. The Social Media Intern reports to the Director of Programs and Policy.
Responsibilities:
- Manages the FRT’s social media accounts and posts content.
- Brainstorms campaign ideas.
- Monitor various FRT social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Twitter.
- Analyzes analytics to gauge the success of campaigns.
- Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service.
- Provide suggestions to management for improving customer experience on social platforms and internal processes.
- Learns and becomes proficient on internal software systems.
- Manage and facilitate social media communities by responding to social media posts and developing discussions
- Assists in creating performance reports.
- Design and deliver creative and engaging social media strategies.
- Manage the day-to-day handling of all social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, TikTok, Snapchat, Tumblr and YouTube, adapting content to suit different channels and audiences.
- Plan and deliver content across different platforms using various scheduling tools.
- Create and/or coordinate original and engaging multimedia content across multiple FRT social media platforms.
- Educate other staff on the use of social media and promote its use within your company (in-house roles)
Social Media Intern Skills:
- Social media management, Online engagement, Oral and written communication, Organization and Professionalism
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A college graduate.
- Prior development industry experience is preferred.
