Shopkeeper/Business Assistant
We are looking for an experienced, customer-oriented and Lilongwe-based Shopkeeper/Business Assistant to manage our IT and Phone Store. This role requires a deep understanding of both IT products (hardware and software) and mobile technology (smartphones, accessories, and services). The ideal candidate should be tech-savvy, have strong sales skills, and be able to provide excellent customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Customer Assistance: Provide expert advice to customers on a wide range of products, including smartphones, computers, peripherals, and software.
• Product Sales: Help customers choose the right products based on their needs, offering guidance on both IT and phone solutions.
• Inventory Management: Maintain inventory levels for phones, accessories, IT hardware, and software.
• Tech Support and Repairs: Assist customers with basic tech support, including phone setup, data transfer, troubleshooting, and offering repair services for both phones and IT devices (e.g., screen repairs, software issues).
• Store Presentation: Keep the store organized, ensuring that displays are updated regularly with the latest products and promotional materials.
• Cash Handling and Record Keeping: Manage transactions, handle cash and card payments, and keep accurate sales records.
• Mobile Plans and SIM Cards: Assist customers in selecting and setting up mobile plans, prepaid SIM cards, and unlocking devices if needed.
• Promotions and Marketing: Assist in in-store promotions and contribute to the store’s marketing efforts, including participating in online campaigns and social media marketing.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATION:
• Experience: Previous experience in an IT or mobile phone store is preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of smartphones, mobile technology, computers, and related IT products.
• Customer Service: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex tech concepts to customers of all knowledge levels.
• Sales and Upselling: Ability to recommend products and services to customers, increasing sales through upselling and offering bundles.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot both mobile phone and computer issues, providing practical solutions.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills for managing inventory and processing transactions.
• Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and handle independent shop management during quieter periods.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
• Technical Certifications: Any certifications in IT, computer repairs, or mobile technology will be an advantage.
• Repair Skills: Experience with phone repairs, computer hardware upgrades, and software installations will be highly valued.
