Since 2013, BURN has sold around 4.5m+ stoves in Africa. These stoves have helped 24m million beneficiaries save over $820 million in fuel expenditures and 20.8 million tons of wood while reducing indoor air pollution by 65%.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out sales activations at specified locations as directed by the Team Leader;
  • Have a thorough knowledge of BURN products being sold;
  • Conduct product demonstrations whenever possible;
  • Follow the entire customer screening and registration process;
  • Sell BURN electric products in approved areas;
  • Maintain a positive, friendly, and approachable attitude with customers;
  • Be punctual, meet deadlines, and uphold professionalism in customer interactions;
  • Attend trainings and meetings at BURN offices as required;
  • Account for all company expenses related to their services;
  • Perform other tasks as requested by company personnel, such as the team leader or management team.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achieving monthly sales targets;
  • Ensuring timely customer repayments;
  • Ensuring customers use the product regularly;
  • Maintaining high-quality data with zero errors;
  • Submitting at least 4 good leads per week;
  • Providing daily reports;
  • Being a team player;
  • Demonstrating integrity;
  • Possessing strong interpersonal skills.

Skills and Experience

  • Malawi School Leaving Certificate (MSCE) or equivalent. A certificate or diploma in Sales,Marketing, or Business-related fields is a plus;
  • Prior experience in sales, retail, or customer service is preferred but not required;
  • Willingness to learn and undergo training in sales techniques and product knowledge;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build rapport and trust with customers;
  • Persuasion and negotiation skills to close sales;
  • Customer service orientation;
  • Basic knowledge of sales principles and customer engagement techniques;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Time management and organizational skills.
