VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT 

RESERVATIONIST

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the vacant position of a Reservationist. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Ensure accurate information is provided to clients with respect to all products including accommodation, conference and banqueting.
  • Inform and ensure that guests are aware of their mode of payment.
  • Giving answers to enquiries by clients and advising them accordingly regarding bookings and reservations.
  • Making arrangements for clients’ travel programs.
  • Ensuring that clients have access to various services without a hitch.
  • Relationship building with all our customers by developing a proper database.
  • Assist in creating promotions to increase revenues and room occupancies.
  • Communication with management to show that revenues and booking rates are being maintained efficiently is a must.
  • Take a waiting list, if we are fully booked.
  • To collect and follow up LPOs (Local Purchase Orders), and ensure that the Front office Shift Leader are aware of them.
  • To manage bookings and keep accurate records to ensure that all accommodation and conference and banqueting rooms are filled whenever possible.
  •  To work closely with the Sales Team to change room rates depending on seasonal demands and revenue requirements.
  • To ensure that sales strategies are adaptable to changing conditions.
  • To keep accurate records of bookings on the hotel reservation system and forecast likely revenue streams.
  • To compile the following weekly Forecast of accommodation & functions on a monthly basis.
  • To at all times be acquainted with and adhere to the emergency and evacuation
  • To carry out any other duties as may be required from time to time by management.
  • Trouble shoot & problem solve within given parameters.

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Diploma in hospitality management or a certificate with at least 2 years’ experience
  • Or a Certificate in Front Office Operations with 5 years’ experience
  • Must be computer literate with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good command of the English language (both written and spoken)
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision.
