Family Health Services (FHS), has partnered with the government of Malawi through the Ministry of Health (MoH) in safeguarding the health of Malawians by using private sector approaches to reconfigure healthcare delivery– (i) through directly delivering innovative social and behaviour change communications, social marketing, and social franchising across a wide range of health areas including Reproductive Health, HIV, Malaria and water-borne disease prevention (ii) by playing a market facilitation role, approaching market challenges and opportunities with a system-wide lens that unlocks a self-sustaining market with multiple players that can prioritize, adapt and ultimately thrive without external assistance and funds.
FHS continues to leverage capacities, learnings, and best practices to enhance activities in Malawi. To accomplish its mission, FHS is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of Quality Assurance and Training Coordinator.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Advisor, the Quality Assurance and Training Coordinator will be responsible for implementing program quality assurance and improvement activities to the required standards, monitoring and continuously evaluating providers’ and system quality compliance levels and ensuring sustained client safety and improved quality of care.
Specifically, she/he will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing all sites and affiliate clinics for scheduled internal and external site service quality assessment (QA) activities.
- Coordinating and conducting scheduled site service Quality assessments (QA) using HNQIS. Track site performance through action plan development and follow-up visits. Document key findings in sites based supervision forms.
- Developing monthly QA/QI activities work plans, and budgets in line with the approved master annual work plan.
- Participating in annual review of service delivery guidelines and protocols.
- Coordinating and conducting regular QA supervisions for franchise and mobile services teams, including partners providing RH services.
- Coordinating and conducting Continuous Professional Development/Medical education activities to all providers, team leads and SD coordinators.
- Coordinating and conduct trainings for all programme and franchise staff and ensure trainings are aligned to local and FHS standards.
- Building capacity of team leaders to do regular QA assessment of providers using HNQIS checklist.
- Developing and sharing monthly reports and updates on quality assurance and improvement activities for various teams.
- Developing quarterly training and supervision plans. Conducting approved training activities as scheduled.
- Participating in MOH/PSI joint sites supportive supervision based on schedules from Reproductive and Quality Management Health Directorates at the MOH.
- Leading monthly orientation of providers on AEs, complication communication protocol, including management and referral system.
- Leading outreach teams in management and reporting of AEs including updates.
- Coordinating annual providers licenses renewal including renewal of FHS clinics licenses.
- Overseeing CQI and support supervision activities in designated teams/sites. This includes ensuring quality improvement team (QIT) meetings take place monthly and led by team leads. File teams QIT/QA meeting minutes copies.
- Coordinating all QA report documentations and storage in line with reporting and storage standards.
- Supporting recruitment of service delivery providers and ensure this is done according to FHS quality standards.
- Coordinating and conducting Mentorship of service delivery providers in all health areas
- Ensuring and maintaining a good working relationship with government, NGOs, partners and local medical community.
- Coordinating and conducting quarterly client exit interviews to assist in determining the quality of care.
- Supporting QA Advisor to conduct root cause analysis of all severe adverse.
- Attending local stakeholders and partners meetings at district, regional and national level
- Full adherence to the Code of Conduct and ethical working environment principles and raising awareness of the FHS complaints/concerns reporting and response mechanism to clients, communities and/or stakeholders as appropriate.
REQUIRED/RECRUITMENT QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Nursing or Clinical Medicine with at least 3 years’ experience in SRH/FP program implementation and quality assurance approaches.
- Registered with Medical Council of Malawi or Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi
