MINISTRY OF HOMELAND SECURITY

Post : Public Works Officer (Grade I)
Salary : Within the Grade I salary scale segment
Location : Department of Prisons Service
Qualifications:
Applicants should be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in any of the following fields: Civil Engineering, Public Works, Project Management, Agriculture Extension, Humanities, Social Work and Psychology obtained from accredited institutions.
Duties
- Supervising of persons convicted to perform public works in the communities;
- Maintaining residential punishment register;
- Monitoring the places of placement and labor camps;
- Providing material and social assistance to the convicts;
- Advising, assisting and endeavoring to find employment on which persons sentenced to public works should be engaged.
Note: Documentary evidence of major requirements specified in the advertisement shall be required during interviews. Serving officers will also be required to demonstrate during the interviews that they are permanent and pensionable officers in the Civil Service by producing letters of confirmation in appointment in addition to letters of condition of appointment on probation (PSR 19).
