AG Care in partnership with World Vision is implementing a Food and livelihood surety Project in Dowa district.  A job vacancy has risen with the following details;

Position: Project Officer

Duty Station: Mponela, Dowa

Contract Duration: One year starting in October 2024 with a possibility of extension depending on funding availability and performance.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily technical planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring and reporting of project activities, and ensuring proper coordination with relevant stakeholders with reference to project proposal and the budget.
  • Prepare, compile and produce monthly, quarterly and annual quality reports on project progress.
  • Identify training gaps, coordinate and facilitate training sessions and meetings at community and district levels.
  • Plan, facilitate and conduct training sessions on conceptual understanding of various project components and capacity building for beneficiary communities.
  • Participate in assessment, design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes of the area office for various intervention activities of the Programme.
  • Ensure that all relevant data in the project area is well captured to allow for easy monitoring of progress
  • Ensure proper filling documents, and data storage.
  • Explore and assess new and better ways to implement activities (innovation)
  • promote and share ideas for technical improvement.
  • Conduct community dialogues among communities to create awareness on how they can improve their social-economic statuses.
  • Ensure good collaboration with government stakeholders and other development agencies.
  • Represent AG Care at relevant networks, workshops, seminars and policy events.
  • Identify and track emerging issues for further resource mobilization.
  • Contribute design and development of project proposals.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key contacts in strategic partner organizations
  • Ensure that all resources entrusted you are well managed and the spirit of stewardship manifests all the time.
  • Capturing and compiling transformation stories/case studies.
  • Undertake duties assigned by the Executive Director

Minimum Required Qualifications, skills, and relevant work experience

  • Qualifications – Bachelor of Science in Agricultural, Environment and Natural Resources Management, Agribusiness Management and Agronomy
  • Minimum of two-year practical work experience in project implementation will be an added advantage.
