Circle for Integrated Community Development (CICOD)
Circle for Integrated Community Development (CICOD) is a Malawian national non-profit making Non Governmental Organisation with an integrated approach towards development in the thematic areas of Sustainable Livelihoods; Environment and Climate Justice, Preventive Health and Good Governance. In a consortium involving Oxfam as lead with CICOD AND ELDS as direct implementers with funding from NORAD, CICOD will be implementing a project on Rooted in Diversity – Partnerhip for Food Security in Dowa District focusing on Neglected and Underutilised (Crop) Species (NUS). It is a 5-year project running from January 2024 to December 2028. CICOD is, therefore, calling for applications for the position of Project Officer tenable in Dowa district.
PROJECT OFFICER
Based at Mponela in Dowa and reporting to the Project Coordinator, the Project Officer will have following responsibilities:
- Support communities in the planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the project activities.
- Facilitate a process to internalise understanding of the project by communities and other stakeholders at district and community levels
- Provide technical support in the community based project sustainability initiatives
- Facilitate training needs assessment, prepare training programmes and arrange for training activities
- Prepare and submit reports, case studies, documentaries, databases and project technical proposals
- Participate in all research activities planned and supported by CICOD or/and collaborating partners Maintain close and constant linkage, interface and reference between CICOD and communities as well as between CICOD and other stakeholders
- Supporting the preparation of and participating in meetings involving project communities/ beneficiaries and/or other CICOD stakeholders
- Supervise volunteers and offer technical support.
