CCAP Nkhoma Synod Health Department invites applications from suitably qualified and well experienced applicants for the position of Project Officer tenable at Nkhoma Mission Hospital. The Project Officer Position is offered on contract basis, it is a three-year (36 months) fixed term Employment Contract.
PROJECT OFFICER – GRADE I
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leading internal coordination across staff roles, and liaising externally with Government Hospitals, NGOs, and other stakeholders to deliver complex implementation.
- Maintaining timely, professional communications with project staff and stakeholders to resolve problems and build trust.
- Developing work plans and negotiating schedules in line with project targets and hospital capacity.
- Managing budgets, resources, dependencies and risks, and working closely with finance staff.
- Monitoring implementation (progress, deliverables, coherence and consistency, quality and effectiveness).
- Determining the need for improvements.
- Discovering ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and staff.
- Writing and completing comprehensive reports and metrics using standardised templates.
- Ensuring project operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal Hospital Policies, such as procurement and safeguarding.
- Representing the project in meetings related to disability and/or eye health organized by the Government and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- University degree in Business Administration or Public Administration or related fields.
- Relevant experience in medicine, public health, development studies is an added advantage.
- At least three years of experience in inclusive Project Management of development programmes including monitoring and evaluation.
- Demonstrated experience with accountability practices and working with vulnerable groups.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Desirable
- Experience and understanding of Eye Health and particular Eye Health Services in Malawi.
- Sound understanding of disability and age-related issues.
- Experience working with Government, national and international non-governmental organisations.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation is an added advantage.
