Circle for Integrated Community Development (CICOD)
Circle for Integrated Community Development (CICOD) is a Malawian national non-profit making Non Governmental Organisation with an integrated approach towards development in the thematic areas of Sustainable Livelihoods; Environment and Climate Justice, Preventive Health and Good Governance. In a consortium involving Oxfam as lead with CICOD AND ELDS as direct implementers with funding from NORAD, CICOD will be implementing a project on Rooted in Diversity – Partnerhip for Food Security in Dowa District focusing on Neglected and Underutilised (Crop) Species (NUS). It is a 5-year project running from January 2024 to December 2028. CICOD is, therefore, calling for applications for the positions of Project Coordinator tenable in Dowa district.
PROJECT COORDINATOR
Based at Mponela in Dowa and reporting to the CICOD Programme Manager, the Project Coordinator will have overall responsibility of providing technical leadership of the project.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Provide overall project management in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project activities
- Provide stewardship for grant management including capacity building and mentorship
- Anchor networking with relevant structures, partners and stakeholders at national, district and community level
- Coordinate and facilitate training needs assessments, prepare training programmes and arrange for training activities
- Coordinate the preparation and timely submission of reports, case studies, documentaries, databases and project technical proposals
- Provide support to research on selected NUS, Participatory Plant Breeding provide extension services to farmers and relevant agricultural organizations
- Provide support to value addition and motivation on the utilization of selected neglected and underutilized species value chains
- Act as a link and reference person been CICOD and communities as well as between CICOD and other stakeholders
- Provide leadership, motivation and supervision of all staff under the project.
