Lilongwe Water Board
The Lilongwe Water Board is a Statutory Corporation established in 1947 and re-constituted in 1995 under the Water Works Act (Cap 72). It is responsible for the provision of water supply and sanitation services to the City of Lilongwe and other surrounding areas designated as its supply area. The Board is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates of Malawian origin to fill the following positions that exist within the Board.
Job Title : Production Attendants
Grade: LWB 12
Division: Bottling Plant
Responsible to: Plant Technician
Responsible for : None
Key Roles and responsibilities
- Operate production line equipment.
- Perform quality checks on products and materials.
- Monitor production line to ensure efficiency and productivity.
- Package finished products for storage or shipment.
- Clean and maintain production area to ensure safety and cleanliness
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisor.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
- Demonstrating outstanding commitment to service delivery programs of the Board by personally identifying and reporting water bursts/ leakages to customer care Division of which verifiable repair records shall be tendered to be used as one of the components for assessment during one’s performance appraisal time.
Production Attendants requirements and qualifications
- Ability to follow oral and written instruction
- Attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to demonstrate skills and ease in performing tasks especially
those involving physical movement and hand-eye coordination - Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime as needed
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment will be an added advantage
- Willingness lo learn and adopt to new processes and technologies
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent
