Location: The Position is tenable at Head Office, situated along Bypass Road, Lilongwe

Background:

Local Buy Limited (LBL), a company incorporated under the Malawi’s Company Act in 2016 as Agriculture trade & markets venture, that trades (both at retail and wholesale level) safe, premium and quality agricultural food. LBL is in the process to become Commodity Exchange for agricultural commodities in Malawi; duly regulated under capital markets by Reserve Bank of Malawi.

Position Summary:

As we continue building our team, we are seeking mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process-minded leader with experience in development, coordination and maintenance of a profitable business backed by sound business strategy and operations, marketing management, managing enterprise risks and ensure sustainable business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Commercial and Product sourcing portfolio teams to develop and execute a high-level Marketing and Product sourcing strategy that better respond to the demand on the market and satisfy consumers requirements.
• Coordinate goal setting, targets, performance measures and Workplan for the Business Unit and ensuring they are met.
• Develop and foster use of risk and due diligence tools on buyers, suppliers and trade deals to improve risk control and policy and enhance risk management processes.
• Liaising with government and other private sector players, providing oversight in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of prospective business and corporate partners.
• Being accountable for building and leading high-performing teams, ensuring all teams are aligned and collaborating to achieve organizational results.
• He/she maintains accountability for the operational and fiscal integrity of the organization within policies set by the Directors.

Qualifications

• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Management preferred.
• A demonstrated track record of ability to build collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Unimpeachable integrity; a long-term perspective; a strong sense of accountability; a practical ability to get things done; wisdom and good judgment; the flexibility and courage to shift direction and experiment with new initiatives.
• 5 or more years of overall professional work experience in similar role.
