About the Company: Umodzi Holdings Limited (UHL) is a prestigious domestic brand under the name ‘Umodzi Park and Resorts’ (UPR), situated in the heart of Malawi’s capital city, Lilongwe. UHL seeks to urgently engage energetic, result oriented, suitable qualified Malawians to fill the following vacant positions tenable in Lilongwe;
Job Title: Plumber
Reporting to: Maintenance Manager Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in commercial and residential structures.
- Respond, diagnose, and resolve plumbing issues.
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.
- Light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as required.
- Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on all types of equipment.
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
Qualification and Experience
- Certificate in level 3 Plumbing from or a related technical field
- Trade certification and additional training in plumbing systems are advantageous Hospitality background is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a plumber, preferably in a hotel or commercial environment.
- Familiarity with building codes and plumbing standards.
- Basic knowledge of construction, carpentry, and electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility to handle emergency repairs and work outside regular hours when necessary.
