Public Procurement & Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA)
The Public Procurement & Disposal of Assets Authority (PPDA) was established by an Act of Parliament to regulate the procurement and disposal of Public Assets in Malawi. PPDA mission is to provide a professional, efficient, and effective regulatory, monitoring and oversight function on all public procurement and disposal matters. To accomplish its mission, PPDA is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the following positions.
Job Title: Planning and Research Manager
Grade:Â PPDA 4
Location: PPDA Offices, Lilongwe
Purpose of the Job
Reporting to the Director of Corporate Affairs, the Planning and Research Manager will be required to manage the planning and research function of the Authority.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage, collect, collate and analyze data and information on public procurement and disposal activities in Procuring and Disposing Entities.
- Carry out economic research and other topical research activities
- Provide guidance in identification of areas of research, and supervise the coordination the conduct of research
- Provide leadership in the formulation of Corporate Plans, Budget, and monitor and evaluate Authority’s performance and implementation of projects and program
- Coordinate the development and review of Strategic Plans, policies, KPIs and other corporate plans
- Produce progress reports for projects implemented by the Authority
- Participate in donor funded projects negotiations
- Manage the Authority’s databank
- Consolidate reports relating to general impact and performance trends in the Authority and propose remedial measures to address variances.
- Any other duties assigned from time to time
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in economics/business administration/Statistics/ Social Science or any related field with at least seven (7) years’ post qualification experience, three (3) of which at senior officer level. Those that have master’s degree in economics/business administration/Statistics/Social Science or related field will have an added advantage.
