Background

Banja La Mtsogolo (BLM) is a Malawian Non-Governmental Healthcare Organization established in 1987.  BLM provides quality Family Planning and Reproductive Healthcare including HIV/AIDS information and interventions. BLM is a senior member of the MSI Reproductive Choices Partnership which works in 43 countries. BLM exists to improve quality of life in Malawi through family planning and reproductive health care services. BLM serves over 800,000 clients annually and makes a significant contribution to national family planning objectives. The organization has national coverage, operating through 25 clinics, and numerous outreach clinic sites.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position of:

PHARMACY INTERN

LOCATION         : Lilongwe – Support Office

REPORTING LINE : Assets and Warehouse Officer

DURATION           : Six Months

Role Purpose

The post holder will be supporting the Assets and Warehouse Officer in Data capturing in EHR stock management system, updating stock cards in the warehouse, record keeping and supporting user teams to minimise wastage of medicines through expiry in all BLM channels.

Key Responsibilities

Stock Management 

  • Stock data capturing and dispatch in EHR stock management system.
  • Updating stock cards in the warehouse.
  • Flag out products that are at risk of expiry with user teams and advise teams on therapeutic substitution.
  • Support in picking, checking, packing, and delivering supplies to all BLM teams.
  • Conduct monthly stock inventory in warehouse.
  • Perform any other duties deemed fit by the Warehouse officer.

Qualification and Experience

  • Certificate in Pharmacy.

Key Competencies and Skills

  • High level of computer literacy in packages that include Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Thorough knowledge of rational use of drugs and medical supplies.
  • An inclination to hard work and attention for detail.
  • Strong commitment to the goals and vision of BLM.
  • Pro-Choice.
