Floresta is a Christian organization and a member of the Plant With Purpose Global Partnership. Floresta has just begun its work by targeting a few key watersheds in the Viphya Plateau region of northern Malawi because of its steep terrain, deforestation, and level of poverty. OFFICE ASSISTANT

Brief Job Summary

Reporting to: Human Resources and Admin Officer

Location: Field Office-Mzuzu

Positions reporting to the job holder: None

Job Purpose:

Perform general administrative and clerical duties to support the effective and efficient operation of the field office. Core functions include maintaining office cleanliness, arranging travel and accommodation, providing front desk services, managing inventories, processing payment documents, and handling other assigned tasks.

Person Specification:

  • Enjoy working with people and being able to work as part of a team
  • Have good spoken and written communication skills
  • Respect the importance of confidentiality
  • Have good organising and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to use databases, spreadsheets, and word processing packages.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum education requirement is MSCE equivalent to five (5) IGCSE level grades
  • Minimum professional qualification is Diploma in Secretarial Studies / Administration
  • A degree in Business Management is an added advantage
  • Minimum two years of experience with a similar position, preferably in an NGO setting
  • Excellent computer skills, especially MS Word and Excel
  • A Class B Driver’s license or higher class is an added advantage.
