Paid Research Internship Opportunity
The Training & Research Unit of Excellence (TRUE) is a vibrant health research organization specializing in high-quality research, especially in children and pregnant women. TRUE, through its internship and training program, seeks to recruit and train a Research Nurse Interns to be based at its Zomba Research Site at Zomba Central Hospital. The appointment will be for a period of six (6) months and may be renewed subject to performance and availability of funds.
Job Summary: To support in the management of day-to-day activities of the research study, ensuring strict adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and ethical guidelines. You will play a critical role in patient care, data collection, and study implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities Duties shall include but not limited to the following:
Technical work
- Screening of potential study participants within recruiting schools and administering information sessions whenever required;
- Providing and obtaining informed consent from study participants;
- Enrolling study participants and completing Case Report Forms (CRFs) with precision.
- Following up study participants including conducting home visits where applicable;
- Conduct study procedures according to the study protocols Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and good clinical practice (GCP)
- Provide general nursing and mid-wifely care to study participants;
- Coordinating with the school based clinical trial assistants to ensure timely execution of study procedures
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned to meet the study objectives.
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery
- Registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi
- A proven ability to learn quickly and a strong desire to master new skills.
- A demonstrated passion for health research and patient care.
- Outstanding nurse-patient interpersonal relationship. Always put the patient/study participant first (Patient centered).
- Absolute commitment to ethical research practices and confidentiality.
- Those residing in Zomba will have an added advantage
