National Sales Manager – FMCG (Food & Beverages)

Workforce Recruitment Services seeks to recruit for the following position on behalf of a Client.

Location: Malawi (Travel throughout Northern, Southern, and Central Regions)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned and dynamic National Sales Manager with extensive experience in the FMCG sector, particularly in food and beverages. The ideal candidate should have over 15 years of sales experience, a strong track record in reputable companies in Malawi. The candidate should have great leadership and management, should be able to achieve sales targets, and oversee the operations of our branches and depots across Malawi.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership: Lead, manage, and motivate a team of 50 salespeople to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement effective sales strategies and action plans to drive growth in sales and market share.
  • Branch Oversight: Oversee the operations of our branches and depots located in the Northern, Southern, and Central regions of Malawi.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify opportunities for growth and stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Client Relationships: Build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor sales performance and implement corrective actions to address shortfalls.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management on sales performance, market trends, and other relevant metrics.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and provide coaching and mentoring to sales team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Travel: Travel throughout Malawi to oversee branch and depot operations, meet with clients, and support sales activities.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree or MBA will give an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years of sales experience in the FMCG sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Industry Knowledge: Extensive and practical knowledge in marketing of food and beverages.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in sales leadership roles within reputable companies in Malawi.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and drive performance.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and team members.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel frequently throughout Malawi.
