Position Title: Multimedia Producer – Consultant
Location: Malawi (Nationwide Coverage)

Reporting to: COMFWB Malawi Chapter

1. Background

COMFWB Malawi Chapter, with financial support from the Graca Machel Trust, is implementing a one-year Gender-Entrepreneurial Response Advocacy Project. The
initiative aims to highlight the journeys, challenges, and successes of women entrepreneurs across Malawi. These stories will be used for advocacy to promote gender-responsive entrepreneurship policies and practices.

To achieve this goal, COMFWB Malawi Chapter seeks to hire a Multimedia Producer
Consultant to document, produce, and edit compelling stories from across Malawi. The
content will be distributed on multiple platforms, including TV, social media, and other
digital outlets, to raise awareness and inspire broader community support for women
entrepreneurs.

2. Objective

The Consultant will be responsible for producing a series of high-quality multimedia stories that showcase the experiences of women entrepreneurs in Malawi. These stories will serve to advocate for gender equality in entrepreneurship, promote women’s contributions to economic growth, and inspire more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems

3. Scope of Work

The Consultant will be required to:

● Content Creation: Produce multimedia stories featuring women entrepreneurs from various sectors and regions across Malawi.
○ Capture, edit, and produce multimedia stories featuring women entrepreneurs from various sectors and regions across Malawi.
○ Conduct interviews and field visits to collect authentic, real-life stories.
○ Ensure the stories reflect the diversity of women’s experiences in entrepreneurship, including challenges and successes.

● Editing and Production:
○ Edit and produce high-quality videos suitable for television, online platforms, and social media.
○ Ensure all video content is accessible, including subtitles and translations where necessary.

● Storyline Development:
Work with COMFWB Malawi Chapter to develop key messages, themes, and storylines for the multimedia stories.

● Collaborate with Key Stakeholders:
○ Work closely with COMFWB Malawi Chapter, women entrepreneurs, and other relevant stakeholders.

4. Deliverables

● A comprehensive multimedia production plan, outlining the approach to storytelling, locations, and scheduling.
● A minimum of 10-15 fully edited and high-quality video stories, each between 3-5
minutes long.
● A package of visual and multimedia content suitable for distribution on social media and digital platforms.
● Translated and subtitled versions of the videos as needed.
● Final video footage and raw material to be handed over to COMFWB Malawi Chapter.

5. Timeframe

The consultancy will run for a period of 17 working days from the date of contract signing, with specific deadlines for deliverables to be agreed upon at the start of the consultancy.

6. Required Qualifications and Experience

● A minimum of 4 years of experience in multimedia production, video editing, and content creation.
● Proven experience in producing videos for both television and online platforms.
● Demonstrated experience in documenting stories of women, entrepreneurs, or similar advocacy-driven initiatives.
● Proficiency in video editing software and multimedia production tools.
● Strong understanding of gender-sensitive storytelling and the ability to highlight issues surrounding gender and entrepreneurship.
● Ability to travel within Malawi to capture stories from various regions.
