Motor Vehicle Mechanic

POSITION: MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANIC

Location: Nchima Tea Estate Garage

Reporting to: Garage Manager

DUTIES:

1. Identifies and repairs faults in engines and vehicle parts
2. Performs maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups
3. Conducts periodical mechanical safety checks on vehicles
4. Replaces worn-out parts
5. Test drive vehicles to confirm safe and proper operation
6. Maintains work area, equipment, and tools in safe, clean, and orderly condition
7. Performs other related duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

1. TEVET Motor Vehicle Mechanics Level 3 or Level 2
2. Must have at least 3 years’ experience in repairing both light and heavy vehicles and tractors
3. Must have proven experience in both petrol and diesel engines
4. Ability to read service and repair manuals
5. Excellent mechanical repair skills
6. Good interpersonal skills
7. Valid Driving License
8. Must be 21 years of age or above
