Daeyang Luke Hospital(DLH), is  a fast-growing Mission hospital under the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM). POSITION                               : MEDICAL OFFICER(1)

 GRADE                                   : H

 SALARY                                  : CHAM  SCALE

 REPORTING TO                  HEAD OF CLINICAL DEPARTMENT

 LOCATION                            : DAEYANG LUKE HOSPITAL

 TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT     : TWO YEAR CONTRACT SUBJECT TO RENEWAL

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attending to OPD and emergency clients.
  • Provides management of all medical and surgical cases, emergencies, chronic and acute cases, refer complicated cases for specialist’s attention at central hospital and seek feedback.
  • Manages minor surgical, obstetrics and gynaecology, orthopaedics and trauma, paediatric and medical emergencies.
  • Day to day management of in-patients.
  • Attending to referred cases from junior members of the team.
  • Conduct clinical ward rounds in the hospital on a regular basis.
  • Doing call at the hospital on a rota basis with other medical Officers/Clinicians.

 Educational qualifications experience and attributes

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with at least one year experience  in a busy health facility.
  • Proven competency working in Paediatrics, General Surgery, Obstetrics and gynaecology, and Internal Medicine.
  • Registered with the Medical council of Malawi.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY/SKILLS

  • Well conversant with the Health system in Malawi
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Effective communication skills
  • Problem identification and solving skills
