The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is a unique higher education Statutory Corporation established through Act of Parliament No. 33 of 2022. Our primary mission is to play a pivotal role in shaping Malawi’s present and future by developing and delivering human resource development programmes and enhancing the capacity of the public and private sectors through education and training, research, consultancy, and advisory services. MSG invites suitably qualified, highly motivated and agile candidates to fill the following positions existing at its secretariat and both at Kanengo Campus (formerly Malawi Institute of Management) and Mpemba Campus (formerly Staff Development Institute):

MARKETING AND COMMUNICATION MANAGER – SECRETARIAT

Job Summary: To raise and manage the profile of the School’s products and public relations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Management

  1. Develop, review, and monitor the implementation of policies, plans, strategies, programs, standards, and budgets for marketing and communication.
  2. Adhere to the School’s brand usage guidelines, including developing brand guidelines and templates.
  3. Develop content (web, print, PowerPoint, graphics, and others) that best conveys key messages and meets the school’s business goals.
  4. Develop and implement a newsletter strategy for internal and external audiences.

Marketing

  1. Market the School’s products, services and brand.
  2. Initiate, analyse and conduct market surveys.
  3. Prepare marketing collateral for the School’s corporate relations activities.
  4. Identify business avenues.
  5. Maintain patents and photo and artefacts library.

Corporate Social Responsibility

  1. Coordinate and implement community engagement programmes.

Public Relations and Communication

  1. Coordinate media relations and customer affairs.
  2. Manage press releases, press briefings, press kits and other communication materials.

Secretarial Services

a. Servicing relevant Committees.

Qualification and other attributes:

  • Master’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism or related fields from an accredited or recognised institution by the National Council for Higher Education.
  • Must be a registered member of a relevant professional body in Malawi.
  • 5 years of experience in marketing and communication work.
  • Experience in creative designs and digital marketing is essential.
