Springboard Microfinance Limited (SBM) is a growing microfinance enterprise based in Lilongwe, Malawi. POSITION: LOAN OFFICERS- INTERNS

LOCATION: LILONGWE

DURATION: 1 YEAR

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Engage with current and future clients, providing technical information for the customers who apply for the loans
  2. Collecting the necessary documents needed for the loan applications, and undertake assessments of loan applications for approval
  3. Process loan applications for clients and follow up on approvals and analyzing the financial situation of the applicants
  4. Undertake Financial Literacy trainings for clients
  5. Undertake loan repayments collections and follow up on debt defaulters
  6. Assisting with bookkeeping activities and prepare monthly financial reports
  7. Communicate timely, efficiently, and effectively with clients
  8. Assist in research on effectiveness of SBM loan products and client base
  9. Work at growing client base and marketing at
  10. Undertake any additional tasks as assigned by the Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of Diploma holder in Community Development, Microfinance or related discipline
  • Strong organizational skills
  • An ability to work and think on a strategic level
  • Ability to engage with clients
  • Have excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate
  • Ability to work efficiently and without close supervision while multitasking
  • A willingness to take on a variety of tasks
  • An ability to work quite independently and take initiative
  • A passion for the work SBM is doing
