World Relief Malawi invites applications from interested and qualified candidates to fill the following new position:

Job Title: IT Officer (1 position)
Reports to: Director of Finance and Operations
Location: Lilongwe

Role purpose:

The purpose of this role is overseeing Information Communication Technology, ensuring delivery of high quality IT services that efficiently and effectively captures and enables the storage and processing of data.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Ensures effective functioning of hardware and software packages
  • Ensures efficient networks administration:
  • Provides web management services:
  • Provides administrative IT support
  • Supports facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelors’ degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or relevant field and relevant certification
  • 3 years’ experience at Officer level or higher.
  • Experience managing IT needs of an organisation, specifically: familiarity with Windows and MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook), LAN/WAN infrastructures (routers, modems, switches, etc.); trouble shooting and administering a Microsoft Windows based network (LAN) and servers; good working knowledge of Windows server and domain system configuration, antivirus software for workstations and servers etc.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and tools
  • Good communication skills, ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability and experience of training end users or staff
  • Commitment to staying updated with the latest IT trends and best practices
