Good Neighbors International-Malawi (GNI) is an international humanitarian and development organization in General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) with its headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea. Good Neighbors implements various community development projects within the following sectors; Health, Education, Water and Sanitation, Agriculture and Social Welfare (advocacy for children’s rights other livelihood projects and emergency response. In order to efficiently and effectively execute its duties, GNI is inviting applications from suitably qualified, passionate, dynamic, pro-active and experienced candidates to fill the following existing vacant positions as follows:

Job Title: Information Technology (IT) and Communication Officer
Location: Head Office, Lilongwe, Malawi
Line reporting: Administration Manager

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Communications; -Develop and implement communication strategies to ensure effective internal and external communication, manage organizational communication channels, including digital, print, and social media, coordinate with different departments to ensure consistent and accurate messaging, and produce promotional materials to enhance office visibility.
  • Information Technology; Manage and support the organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and networks, Ensure IT systems are secure, reliable, and up-to-date, and provide technical support and training to staff on IT systems and tools.
  • IT Infrastructure management and technical support; – Maintain and oversee the organization’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and hardware, and provide technical assistance to staff for software, hardware, and connectivity issues.
  • System Security and data management; -Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures to protect organizational data and systems, and manage data storage, backup, and recovery to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Software and Licensing; – Ensure that all software used by the organization is properly licensed and updated
  • Monitoring and Evaluation Systems; – Work with DME team to support the development and maintenance of IT-based monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems for project tracking.
  • Website and Social Media Management; Maintain and update the organization’s website and social media platforms to ensure accurate and engaging content.
  • Innovative Solutions: – Identify emerging technologies and recommend their adoption to improve operational efficiency and communication strategies.
  • Office Gadget Maintenance; – Ensure all office gadgets, such as printers, copiers, and computers, are functioning properly, Schedule regular maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed, and Keep track of warranties and service agreements for office equipment.
  • Office and Facility Maintenance; – Ensure the office infrastructure, including fencing, CCTV, internet systems, any other facilities assigned by the office are functioning properly, coordinate with service providers for repairs and maintenance of water, plumbing, and electrical systems, handle space allocation, layout changes, and ensure regular security
  • Compliance and Reporting; – Ensure all activities comply with legal and organizational standards, Prepare and submit regular reports on communications, IT, and procurement activities, and stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Qualification and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Communications, or a related field
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in IT and communication roles, preferably in an NGO or international organization.
  • Proficiency in network management, system administration, and IT troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with communication tools and platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and email systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to train staff and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English is required
