Introduction
R4H (formerly known as Riders for Health) is an NGO working to improve healthcare delivery in Africa. R4H has been working with Ministry of Health and Population in establishing a well-coordinated, reliable national Sample Transport mechanism. Since 2011, R4H has been working in healthcare logistics, transporting clinical samples and results, undertaking healthcare waste management, and road safety training.
R4H seeks to fill the following open positions of ICT support Assistant-Systems support (1) to support the upward trajectory of the organization.
Title: ICT Support Assistant -Systems
Location : Blantyre/Zomba, Malawi
Reports To: ICT Officer
Direct Reports : None
Purpose of the position
ICT Support Assistant will provide comprehensive support to users of various information systems. This involves promptly addressing and resolving issues raised by system users, ensuring effective communication to understand their requirements and technical challenges. The role demands a solid understanding of the systems in use and the underlying technologies to ensure smooth functionality and efficient troubleshooting. Additionally, the assistant will be responsible for generating and sharing reports from multiple management information systems, ensuring that relevant departments have access to up-to-date and accurate data for decision-making purposes.
Required Education and Experience:
- Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Information Management Systems or related field from recognised and accredited institution. Those with bachelor’s degree will have an added advantage 2 years’ practical experience in technical and system support in a busy organisation preferably with NGOs
- Practical experience in using helpdesk / ticketing software e.g. JIRA
- Practical experience in data collection systems such as Comcare, ODK etc
- Knowledge and practical experience in programming languages such as Python, PHP, Java
- Knowledge and practical experience in database technologies such as SQL, PostgreSQL
- Strong facilitation and mentorship/coaching skills
- Self-starter, effective team player and demonstrated verifiable result-oriented track record
