The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is a unique higher education Statutory Corporation established through Act of Parliament No. 33 of 2022. Our primary mission is to play a pivotal role in shaping Malawi’s present and future by developing and delivering human resource development programmes and enhancing the capacity of the public and private sectors through education and training, research, consultancy, and advisory services. MSG invites suitably qualified, highly motivated and agile candidates to fill the following positions existing at its secretariat and both at Kanengo Campus (formerly Malawi Institute of Management) and Mpemba Campus (formerly Staff Development Institute):

HUMAN RESOURCE AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER (KANENGO CAMPUS)

Job Summary: To manage human capital and provide administrative services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Management

  1. Develop, implement, review and monitor human capital policies, plans, strategies, systems, procedures, regulations and budgets.
  2. Prepare and submit reports.

Human Resource

  1. Coordinate recruitment and selection of staff.
  2. Prepare employment contracts.
  3. Coordinate human resource planning and development programmes.
  4. Administer performance management systems.
  5. Allocate work and appraise staff.

Industrial Relations

  1. Handle labour and employee matters.

Occupational Health and Safety

  1. Coordinate and implement occupational health and safety standards.
  2. Coordinate staff welfare issues.

Administration

  1. Analyse and interpret administrative data for decision-making.
  2. Create, maintain, keep and retrieve School records.
  3. Facilitate and coordinate the management of legal matters.
  4. Coordinate and monitor the provision of office, security, fleet management, and outsourced services.
  5. Maintain the asset register.
  6. Coordinate and organise School’s ceremonies.
  7. Analyse office space.

Secretariat services

  1. Servicing relevant statutory and ad-hoc committees

Qualification and other attributes

  • Master’s degree in Human Resource Management, Management, Business Administration, and Public Administration and related fields from an accredited or recognised institution by the National Council for Higher Education.
  • 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with performance management systems is essential
