HSE AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER – DWANGWA OFFICE

Reporting to the Contracts Manager

The HSE and Administration Officer is responsible for implementation of policies and procedures as per National Occupational Safety and Health (NOSA) and Occupational, Safety, Health and Welfare Act of Malawi guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the safety performance of the Branch, e.g. risk assessment, accident/ incident investigation, incidents trend analysis e.t.c
  • Conducting audits and inspections
  • Capturing daily report data
  • Identifying training needs and conducting internal safety training programs
  • Conducting regular staff meetings to share best practice techniques
  • Developing and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Ensuring compliance of set standards by all staff
  • Supervision of fuel data capturing and analysis
  • Handling HR related issues

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or its equivalent from a recognised institution
  • Nebosh, Samtrac or related qualification in HSE management
  • A minimum of five (5) years hands-on experience in a similar position, those with agriculture operations work experience will have an added advantage
  • Conversant with the NOSA five-star grading system
  • Proficient in MS Office applications
