Job Advertisement: Graphic Designer Intern

About Ujamaa Pamodzi Africa
Ujamaa Pamodzi Africa is a sexual and gender-based violence prevention organization. Our mission is to promote health, personal safety and empowerment for vulnerable women and children. We envision an empowered society free from violence against women and children. Ujamaa implements various activities in more than 10 districts so far.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and creative Graphic Design Intern to support our visual communication efforts. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating impactful visuals that communicate our mission and engage our audiences.
Who We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a creative and motivated individual with a passion for using their skills to empower others. We expect you to be a team player with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design eye-catching graphics and visuals for social media, newsletters, and program reports.
- Develop branding materials such as brochures, banners. and infographics.
- Create visual content to support digital campaigns and program documentation.
- Maintain and adhere to Ujamaa Pamodzi Africa’s brand guidelines across all designs.
- Collaborate with the communication team to produce engaging visual content.
- Assist in designing animations, motion graphics, and short videos.
- Develop maps and spatial designs to illustrate program impact
Qualifications:
- Background or strong interest in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or equivalent (eg. Canva, Sketch).
- Strong portfolio showcasing design skills and creativity.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with animation software (Adobe After Effects Blender).
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and web development (HTML, CSS).
- Familiarity with map-making software (QGIS, ArcGIS).
- Certification in graphic design or a related field (Adobe Certified Expert, Certified Graphic Designer).
- Data visualization and infographic design skills.
