Development Aid from People to People (DAPP) is a local NGO in Malawi working within Education & Vocational training, Food security, HIV/AIDS, Child Aid, Water & Sanitation and Health. The organization is seeking the services of a Grants Administrator to be based in Lilongwe Office.
Demands and specifications for Senior Grants Administration Specialist
·Bachelor degree or masters within public health, agriculture, rural development and social sciences and minimum 3 years proven experience working in a larger NGO as Grants Administrator responsible for timely and accurate reporting to international donors/ partners.
·Be very experienced in writing timely, high quality, accurate narrative reports to partners as per partners/ donor requirements
·Ability to manage time; work well under pressure with multiple priorities.
·Experience in developing TOR’s for internal and external evaluations
·Experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of Development Projects coupled with ability to develop, scrutinize, interpret and relate financial reports to narrative technical reports.
·Knowledge of budget operations and management, budgeting practices and procurement requirements.
·Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation database design techniques and maintaining a database system data and writing a narrative report of findings.
·Skill in strategic and budget management; organization, planning and project work management and prioritizing, delegation and progress monitoring of programs and projects
·Skill in verbal and written communications and public speaking.
·Ability to effectively communicate with partner agencies and other entities to ensure smooth flow of operation and make complex decisions using sound judgment based on current knowledge, theory and standards of practice.
Desired Attributes
• Vast experienced in managing donor funded projects
• Advanced experience in managing Health and Nutrition projects in Malawi
• Comprehensive knowledge in; (DFID annual reporting process, IATI/AID Stream, managing GPAF projects, use DFID log frames) and national WASH indicators, GSF funded project management.
• Passion to complete the assigned tasks within the given deadlines.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills but is also a team player.
• Ability to lead a team to meet deadlines.
• Positive attitude towards work and to deliver results.
