DAPP Malawi is inviting suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill a vacancy for a position as a Grants Administration & Monitoring Specialist to be based at DAPP Lilongwe Offices.

Job summary/ responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for grants administration with a focus on contract management and M&E in regard to contracts/agreements between DAPP and donors/funding agencies. He/she will work closely with the DAPP program and finance team at project level as well as at DAPP National Headquarters level – including the project leadership, the M&E team – overseeing that reporting guidelines, implementation plans and budgeted expenditures are being followed, produced timely and adhering to guidelines.

The responsibilities include:

  • Review, compile and finalize assigned project monthly, quarterly, annual and end of project/program reports and timely submit to donors/partners as per agreed guidelines.
  • Work together with the M&E Project Team to develop and implement baseline assessments, evaluations and research including conclusion and reporting on the same.
  • Develop terms of references for baseline studies and end of project/program evaluations.
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation tools with approval from the partner, DAPP headquarter and project leadership.
  • Support and participate in project/program planning and reporting meetings and provide guidance based on the signed contracts.
  • Support the finance team and program team in updating of workplans, budget monitoring and budget amendments as needed.
  • Coordinate designated project startup and closeout procedures including setting up M&E frameworks together with the M&E Team.
  • Read, interpret technical proposals for easy implementation and present approved project proposals to the project team.
  • Provide technical support to the project team and beneficiaries on assigned projects.

Qualifications and attributes

  • Degree in education, health or any other social sciences or its equivalent.
  • Degree, diploma or certificate in Monitoring and evaluation from a reputable institution will be an added advantage.
  • Interested candidate must have over 3 demonstrable years of experience in monthly, quarterly, yearly and end of the project/program report writing for large projects/programs.
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in overseeing good implementation and M&E -preferable within Education and health.
  • Must have knowledge and experience in data collection and reporting software and have the ability to develop online data collection tools.
  • Must have good command in written and spoken English with effective communication skills, and excellent interpersonal and written and oral presentation skills.
  • Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in managing and motivating teams and addressing performance challenges.
  • Competent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.).
  • Ability to work in a complex environment with short deadlines to deliver results.
  • Passionate, motivated, and hardworking.
  • Able to work outside duty station.
  • Understanding of project/program budgets and financial reports will be an added advantage
