Farming and Engineering Services Limited (FES), a leading supplier and operator of premium brand products including Massey Ferguson and Challenger tractors, Komatsu machinery, Trimble GPS equipment, and Baldan farm implements has immediate vacancies for the following positions at FES Malawi-Blantyre Office :
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT
Reporting to the Finance Manager
The Financial Accountant is responsible for month-end period close processes to ensure accurate preparation of trial balance and financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examining financial records for accuracy.
- Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts and controlling expenditure and cash flow.
- Reviewing Sage systems performance and identifying system issues
- Valuation and reconciliation of foreign currency bank accounts GBP, USD, ZAR, EURO accounts
- Reconciling control accounts (debtors, creditors, inventory, etc.)
- Managing the general ledger including overseeing completeness of monthly accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules, inter-company reconciliations
- Run month end system processes and interfaces for accurate month end close
- Preparation of monthly trial balance, financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports and cashflow statements
- Preparation of Tax returns (Payroll, Withholding, VAT Fringe Benefit Tax and Corporate Income Tax)
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of Degree in Accounting
- Should haveACCA professional qualifications.
- 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Knowledge of Sage X3 Accounting system and Microsoft Excel
