Driver (Blantyre & Lilongwe)
Job Purpose
Responsible for all transport-related duties including fleet and journey management. The position holder shall be responsible for ensuring that all journeys are properly and timely executed in line with company travel policy. He/she shall manage the day-to-day logistic requirements of the company in line with policy.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely transporting staff as well as various products and materials to and from specific locations in a timely manner.
- Ensuring that all journeys are properly managed and provide and maintain accurate time records of the vehicle’s trips.
- Ensuring that vehicle is tidy, properly maintained and is in good conditions at all times.
- Ensuring that vehicle insurance and road worthy is always up to date and notify management before renewal is due.
- Ensuring that vehicle consumables such as engine oil, water and others are frequently checked and changed when due (routine maintenance check should be timely).
- Ensuring that the vehicle is always trek-ready and drive vehicle in accordance with the road safety and national regulation standards.
- Adhering to the company vehicle use and travel policy uniformly.
- Willing to work late when required.
Educational Qualifications and Skills:
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) as minimum qualification.
- Valid Class PG Drivers Licence.
- Able to proficiently read, write and speak English.
- Good team working skills.
- A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Essential Knowledge and Experience:
- At least 3 years in a medium or large company.
- Excellent driving skills.
- Honesty and integrity.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good health & keen eyesight.
- Timely conscious, reliable and very punctual.
