Job Title : Driver
Reports to : Operations Manager/Dispatcher
Job Summary:
We’re seeking reliable and customer-focused drivers to join our courier service team, delivering packages, parcels, and documents safely and efficiently to customers in designated areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles for deliveries.
- Follow designated routes/schedules for timely deliveries.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Handle cash/credit transactions accurately.
- Maintain accurate delivery records (signatures, exceptions).
- Report issues/concerns to dispatch/management.
- Follow company policies/procedures (safety protocols).
- Perform pre-/post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Maintain a clean/organized vehicle.
- Work varying shifts (nights, weekends, holidays).
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license (clean driving record) and Malawi School Certificate of Education.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds (23 kg) or more.
- 1+ year of driving experience (courier/delivery preferred).
- Strong local area knowledge/navigation skills.
- Excellent customer service/communication skills.
- Ability to work independently/teams.
- Basic math skills/cash handling accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment/meet deadlines.
Other Attributes:
- Experience with handheld scanners/GPS devices.
- Knowledge of traffic laws/regulations.
- Certification in defensive driving/transportation management.
