Mary Meals Malawi

Mary’s Meals is a global movement supported by people from all walks of life and we are focused on one goal – that every child receives a nutritious daily meal in a place of education. We continue to change the lives of over 2 million children who today will receive a Mary’s Meals. Mary’s Meals Malawi is our largest school feeding programme, and we work closely with schools and community volunteers who help prepare and serve the nutritious meals every school day.

Marys Meals Malawi is looking to recruit energetic and motivated individuals for the positions of:

Driver – Permanent (Blantyre)

Job purpose

Reporting to the Transport Analyst Officer, Mary’s Meals drivers will have the main responsibility of transporting goods and people throughout Malawi. Drivers are responsible to ensure that passengers experience a safe and comfortable journey, and that they arrive on time. When transporting goods, drivers take on the responsibility of ensuring they are transported to their destination in good-condition and with all necessary documentation.

Requirements

  • Valid driving license
  • Several years of driving 4X4 manual vehicles experience. A defensive driving training is an added advantage.
  • Malawi School Certificate of Education
  • At least five (5) years driving experience.
  • Excellent customer care skills
  • Smart appearance
  • Polite, diplomatic, and professional manner
  • Good timekeeping
  • Willingness to work flexibly
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance
  • Malawi geographical and route knowledge
  • Ability to deal calmly with unexpected circumstances or delays
