Family Planning Association of Malawi (FPAM) is a local, non-governmental organization providing youth friendly sexual and reproductive health rights, information, and services.
FPAM compliments the government of Malawi in improving the health status of all people in Malawi. FPAM’s vision is a Malawian society with access to quality and comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services and information.
FPAM is looking for suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position.
DISTRICT PROJECT OFFICER – NTCHEU
Main Purpose of the Job
The District Project Officer will oversee family planning and reproductive health (SHR) programs and integrate SRHR with other health and development activities for the N’zatonse/DISC Project at the district level. He/She will provide specialized technical support to the Ministry of Health and partners to enhance the management and oversight of family planning resources and promote the exchange of experiences and best practices within the district
Reports to: – Project Coordinator – Nzatonse Project.
Specific Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating the DISC project implementation at district level and participate in the development of monthly, quarterly reports, work plans, forecasts, procurement plans and business plans
- Serve as the point of contact for the DISC project at district level and link with the secretariat project team
- Based on their expertise in self-care, take leadership of service delivery, demand creation and learning workstreams in line with DISC priorities
- Maintain a high level of health expertise and share up-to-date information with partners by locating, analyzing, and applying current technical data relevant to family planning and reproductive health.
- Evaluate proposed SRHR program activities, including potential research areas especially those focusing on Adolescents and youth
- Ensure coordination with key internal (within FPAM) and relevant exteral stakeholders including the Ministry of Health (MOH) in all N’zatonse/DISC activities at district level.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree in Nursing from a reputable institution.
- At least three years’ experience in Family planning and reproductive health programs.
- Demonstrated experience in
implementing self-care programs including DMPA SC - Experience in mentorship and training will be an added advantage.
