Digital Communications Intern.
Family Health Services (FHS), has partnered with the government of Malawi through the Ministry of Health (MoH) in safeguarding the health of Malawians by using private sector approaches to reconfigure healthcare delivery– (i) through directly delivering innovative social and behaviour change communications, social marketing, and social franchising across a wide range of health areas including Reproductive Health, HIV, Malaria and water-borne disease prevention (ii) by playing a market facilitation role, approaching market challenges and opportunities with a system-wide lens that unlocks a self-sustaining market with multiple players that can prioritize, adapt and ultimately thrive without external assistance and funds.
FHS also uses digital media to reach its target audience with program-approved messages. To accomplish its mission, FHS is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Digital Communications Intern.
Reporting to the Digital Marketing Coordinator, the intern shall plan and execute all Family Health Services (FHS) digital communications activities including social media campaigns and the day-to-day management of the organization’s media (including social media platforms). Specifically, he/she will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities.
- Developing and sharing content for the Youth Alert social media platforms
- Assist with social media campaigns conducted on a periodic basis.
- Assist in managing social media channels (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter (X), and WhatsApp) and content calendar to ensure content is timely, relevant, and engaging
- Prepare daily/weekly posts and track growth and success rates of campaign (reach, engagement, follows, interactions)
- Keep track of Youth Aler digital media indicators and plan strategies to achieve expectations.
- Ensure proper messaging is being executed online. Respond to messages/ comments on social media channels in a professional manner.
- Identify leaders and influencer and engage them in brand activities
- Develop and document success stories for the program
Qualifications, Knowledge, Ability, and Skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, digital marketing, marketing, visual/graphic design or any related field.
- Excellent desktop publishing skills – Design and produce artworks and media products such as videos, digital mural, Graphics Interchange Format (Gifs) with intent to deliver program approved messages to target audience.
- Ability to create, publish and moderate content dissemination on platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook.
- Interest in social media trends.
- Ability to get on and connect with young people.
- Excellent interviewing, writing and photography skills.
- Should be currently based in Lilongwe.
