Culinary Instructor or Food Production Instructor
A culinary instructor is responsible for teaching cooking skills and techniques to individuals or groups. They are also responsible for creating lesson plans and ensuring students become proficient in different culinary areas, including meal preparation, cooking techniques, and pastry making.
Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop culinary courses and curriculums that are engaging and meet the needs of students.
  • Provide feedback and critique to students on their cooking skills and techniques.
  • Demonstrate proper cooking techniques and methods, emphasizing safety procedures.
  • Teach and mentor students in all aspects of cooking, including meal preparation, cooking techniques, and pastry making.
  • Offer guidance and support to students as they develop their own approaches to cooking and meal planning.
  • Create and maintain a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.
  • Evaluate student performance and progress and maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and participation.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and culinary professionals to develop best practices and stay up-to-date on culinary trends and innovations.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Proven experience as a culinary instructor or chef.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed.
  • Positive attitude and passion for sharing culinary knowledge and skills with others.
  • Familiarity with different cooking styles and techniques.
